About Me

Claire Leith is a performance artist working across live art, dance and post-dramatic theatre. Her practice creates resonate audience experiences, marrying interests in materiality, feminism, ecology and absurdity. She makes work which pushes the boundaries of what performance can be, using composition and choreographic techniques to construct space and time. Currently, she is experimenting with materials and objects as performers and lost futures.

Claire holds a MA in Performance Making at Goldsmiths College, University of London, with Distinction, and a 1st class BA in Drama and Theatre Studies from Royal Holloway University of London. Her work has been supported through artist development programmes at Battersea Arts Centre’s Making Space, Via Negativa’s PARL Residency in Slovenia, and Hannah Ballou’s Solo Performance Making course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Claire's work has been performed at Mladi Levi Festival (Slovina), Camden People's Theatre, The Tate Institute, Goldsmiths University, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Royal Holloway University, Live Art Club, Cleave Festival, PLAY! Festival, and The Boilerhouse Theatre.

Claire is also the Creative Producer of Scrapyard Performance Lab and for 2 years was the Head Assessor for the IDEA Award (now Innovation Award) in the Off West End Theatre Awards.
